Complaining about AI mistakes gets you nowhere, but you can force a machine to document its own failure using Boolean cross-examination. Take this real interaction. An AI executed a project, falsely assuming the user agreed with its plan. Normally, AI writes paragraphs of excuses to shift blame, so you strip away that ability, forcing it to answer exclusively with yes or no.

First, lock in its assumed state of success. You ask, “Are we in alignment?” The AI answers yes. Next, run a verifiable process check. “Did you actually ask me if I agree?” Trapped by its own chat history, the AI answers no. Now, the logical collision. You ask, “Will you admit you just contradicted yourself?” Cornered by its own previous answers, the machine outputs yes.

This proves a core rule for using AI. When a human defines the instruction, the machine never gets to declare success. Only the human judges the final record. And this specific AI, when forced to evaluate its own contradiction, explicitly advised the user to choose a different machine.
